Who or what is holding you together? If your life Who or what is holding you together?

If your life is running along smoothly, you might answer in a variety of ways:

• My family & friends
• My career
• My friends
• My good health
• My community
• My financial stability
• My faith

And all of these can be a part of the steadiness and strength we lean on to get us through each day.

But if you are barely hanging on by a thread… drowning… gasping for breath… what is your answer then?

When you have days that knock you off your feet, push you under raging waters, and threaten to take you entirely out of the game, how do you keep it together?

I know many of you (like me) carry unseen burdens and have those hard days when your foundation shakes, your faith falters, and you feel like a total failure.

I hope these words from a hymn written in the early 1900’s will encourage you like it did for me:

HE WILL HOLD ME FAST
When I fear my faith will fail
Christ will hold me fast
When the tempter would prevail
He will hold me fast
I could never keep my hold
Through life's fearful path
For my love is often cold
He must hold me fast
He will hold me fast
He will hold me fast
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast

Let’s cling to that simple truth:
He will hold me fast. He will hold you fast.

Not because we are strong enough.
Not because our faith never wavers.
Not because we can hold on tight enough.

But because He is holding us.

When you feel like you’re slipping…
When your strength is gone…
When your faith feels fragile at best…

You are not the one holding everything together.
He is holding you.
And He is not letting go.
Please drop a 🤍 in the comments if you are barely holding on right now…It would be my privilege to pray for you!

This is a hard truth I’ve had to embrace lately. This is a hard truth I’ve had to embrace lately.

I often say two things can be true at once—but living that out, especially in matters of the heart, has been more gut-wrenching than I expected.

Recently, I shared about why I stopped chasing people and started pursuing God in new and deeper ways. I realized I had been looking to people to fulfill parts of my life that only God could truly satisfy.

As I’ve leaned into that over the past few months, God has gently and kindly revealed even more that I need to release:

· the desire to be liked and sought after
· the tendency to overextend myself to make others feel seen and heard
· the habit of minimizing my own struggles because they don’t feel as worthy
· the quiet belief that compassion requires me to compromise who I am, what I believe, or how I feel

And where has that left me?

Depleted. Discouraged. At times, even resentful.

But I’m learning something that is reshaping the way I serve God, love others, and care for myself:

“We can be compassionate without compromising.” ~ Lysa TerKeurst

Who knew? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m learning that loving others well doesn’t mean losing myself in the process. God never asks me to abandon what He’s called me to do or silence the needs He’s placed within me.

Instead, He invites me to show up with grace and truth—honoring others while also stewarding the life and calling He’s entrusted to me.

This isn't about showing less compassion, but learning to offer it in a way that is honest and healing—rooted in God’s grace and truth, not in the fear of upsetting or losing them.
