Every year, without fail, my Thanksgiving cactus s

Every year, without fail, my Thanksgiving cactus surprises me with its beautiful blooms. 🌸

And every year, I’m reminded of just how much of a miracle this is because, let’s be real—keeping houseplants alive isn’t my forte!

But somehow, this little cactus defies the odds. It thrives despite my neglect, my occasional overwatering, and my utter lack of a green thumb.

It’s like this plant and I have a secret agreement—I’ll keep it alive (barely), and it’ll reward me with its stunning flowers when I least expect it.

It’s a beautiful reminder that even when things feel a little out of control, there are still some small wonders that bloom in their own time.

And I see this as a precious gift from God-a sign of His grace & provision, even in the small, unexpected moments.

And for that, I’m deeply grateful.

How many of you (like me) are obsessed with being

How many of you (like me) are obsessed with being on time?

I confess–it is probably one of the traits my husband and kids find most annoying about me.

Yes, I wholeheartedly embrace the mantra:

Five minutes early is on time. On time is late. Late is unacceptable.

This is a standard I hold for myself, so please don’t think I am throwing any shade at those of you who don’t adhere to this way of thinking. I wish I could be more chill about it…but it’s a struggle.

• Maybe it’s because I need a few minutes to settle myself and feel prepared.

• Maybe it’s because being early gives me a sense of control.

• Maybe it’s because I worry that if I am late, I will miss something important.

I even have nightmares about showing up late to a class I’m supposed to teach, so it’s a real thing!

But here’s the thing: I recently overheard someone say, “You will never be late on God’s time.”

Wow. A revolutionary perspective for someone like me.

Because, if I am honest, I often want to put God on my timetable. I give Him my deadlines, tell Him what seems “late” or “on time,” and then get frustrated when He doesn’t show up according to my schedule.

Yet, God operates on His perfect timeline, not ours. He is never early, never late—always right on time.

As Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT) reminds us:

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
~Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)

It’s humbling, really. I spend so much time managing my schedule, plans, and sense of control. But in the end, God is the one weaving everything together for His perfect purpose, in His perfect timing.

So, maybe it’s okay if I’m running a little behind according to my watch—or even the world’s. Because the only timeline that truly matters is His. And in that, there’s freedom. There’s trust. And there’s peace that surpasses the rush and the pressure we place on ourselves.

So, the next time I feel that familiar tug of anxiety over being late, I’ll remember this: God’s never in a hurry, and neither should I be when it comes to His plans.

Often, words seem to fall short, so we remain sile

Often, words seem to fall short, so we remain silent, not knowing what to say or how to say it.
But as a dear friend told me last week, “the silence can be deafening.”
So, we remain stuck, fearing opening our mouths and saying the wrong thing or remaining mute and risking misinterpretation that we really don’t care.
To say or not to say? On which side do we error?

Whether it’s comforting a friend in crisis or encouraging someone going through a tough season, finding the right words can feel overwhelming.

I offer up these four phrases that can bring light and hope when you’re struggling to find the right words.

1) “YOUR PAIN MATTERS.”
Starting with a simple acknowledgment can be incredibly powerful. Sometimes, the most profound comfort comes from being seen and heard in the midst of struggle. These words validate the person’s experience, letting them know their pain isn’t invisible or dismissed.

2) “I HAVE BEEN THERE TOO.”
Next, let someone know they are not the only one with pain, hardship, and struggle. It’s a way of offering solidarity and empathy, reassuring them that their feelings are valid and that others have walked a similar path. This phrase gently reminds them that while their experience is unique, they don’t have to bear the weight of it in isolation. It’s a reminder that there is strength and healing in shared experiences.

3) “I WILL WAIT WITH YOU.”
When words run out, simply letting someone know you’ll sit with them and wait—no matter how long it takes—can be one of the most powerful comforts you offer. In those moments, your presence speaks louder than anything you could say.

4) “I WILL PRAY FOR YOU.”
We need to be careful of throwing around this phrase too casually. Too many of us (I’m guilty!) say these words when we don’t know what to say. However, once we have acknowledged and identified with someone’s pain, the best thing we can do is to take them Jesus.

Trade your daytime bag for a clutch, swap your blazer for a chic leather jacket or sequined wrap, and slip into strappy heels or bold booties. Add statement jewelry—like chunky earrings or a bold necklace—and maybe even a pop of red lipstick to bring it all together. You’ll look stylish, confident, and ready for any nighttime occasion.

The beauty of a neutral outfit is its versatility—it's the perfect blank canvas to express your unique style, no matter the occasion!

The Bible doesn’t just suggest that we be thankf

The Bible doesn’t just suggest that we be thankful—it commands it (strong word, I know, but no getting around it!).

“Be thankful in all circumstances…” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)

• But what happens when life has you feeling physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually drained?
• When the weight of this world is just too much, leaving you exhausted and empty?
• When even the simplest prayer feels stuck in your throat because your soul feels dry?

Psalm 138 offers three powerful ways to cultivate gratitude, even when it feels impossible. Please take a few minutes to read it.

1) LOOK BACK ➡️ Remember God’s Faithfulness
David begins by making a decision to give thanks. How does he do it? By deliberately remembering God’s faithfulness and recalling the promises He has already fulfilled.

We can do the same. When our current circumstances seem to offer little reason for gratitude, we can look back on how God has worked in our lives before—how He’s listened to our prayers, provided strength when we needed it most, and shown His faithfulness time and again.

2) BE PRESENT ➡️ Rest in God’s Care & Protection
Next, David recognizes God’s majesty and absolute sovereignty over everything. God is in control of the entire universe, yet this same powerful God cares deeply for humble David, protecting him even during all his troubles.

Even when struggles surround us, and we feel the crushing weight of life’s hardships, God is there. He is never too busy to care, protect, and provide precisely what we need. And these truths can fill us with gratitude.

3) LOOK FORWARD ➡️ Rely on God’s Purposes & Plans
Finally, David finds hope and comfort in knowing that God will never abandon him and will finish what He has started in his life. He returns to relying on God’s enduring love and faithfulness to fulfill His plans.

When gratitude is difficult, we need to look forward. We can proactively thank God for what He will do in our lives because of His love for us.

I understand if gratitude is difficult for you today, dear friend. My prayer is that you can look back, be present, and look forward as you remember, rest, and rely on God to help you cultivate gratitude.

Truthfully, prayer isn’t about control—it’s about surrender. When we pray for someone, we partner with God, trusting that He’s already working in ways we can’t always see.

1) PEOPLE ARE NOT PROJECTS
We often feel the need to fix people or situations, but our role is to surrender them to God in prayer and trust that He’s already at work behind the scenes.
When we pray, we invite Him to work in ways beyond our understanding, releasing control to God, who can do more than we can ask or imagine.

🙏🏻 Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

2) LOVE THEM WHERE THEY ARE
When we pray for others, we are called to love them unconditionally—right where they are, with all their flaws, struggles, and doubts. This kind of love requires letting go of any expectation that they will change in the way or time we think they should. Our job is to love and lift them up in prayer, while trusting the Holy Spirit to do the heart work and transformation that only He can do.

3) TRUST GOD’S TIMING, NOT YOURS.

When we pray for others, it’s easy to want immediate results, but God’s timing often differs from ours. He is never in a hurry, yet His timing is always perfect. Just because we don’t see immediate change doesn’t mean our prayers aren’t making a difference. Keep hoping, keep praying, and let God handle the “when” and “how.”

Let's take our inner beauty insights and talk about physically decluttering.

I don’t know about you, but my closet is one of the first places I go when I need to get things in order. There’s something about staring at a packed closet and feeling overwhelmed by all the choices that mirror the clutter in my soul.

So, this season, I took the challenge seriously. I tackled the clutter in my closet (and the critic that lives there, too!) and purchased an amazing tool created by @StylebyColor, which helped me pare down to a handful of pieces I love and wear often. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. It was much harder than I expected!

But I realized in that process that it wasn’t just about letting go of clothes—it was about letting go of control, perfectionism, and even a little bit of fear—the same things that clutter up our souls!

The more I released, the more I felt a sense of freedom, not just in my wardrobe but in my spirit. I learned I didn’t need to hold onto excess just in case. God provides for our every need, and simplifying—both inside and out—can make space for His peace to fill us.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and posted these photos to show you it can be done!

So, if your closet feels a little chaotic (or maybe your soul is), take a deep breath and start small. You don’t have to get rid of everything at once.

Pray, listen, and let God lead you in your physical and soul decluttering. You might be surprised at the freedom that comes when you finally let go!

To truly reflect God’s beauty, we need to declutter our hearts, souls, and minds. I had no idea how much internal clutter I was carrying until I took the time to examine what was really hindering me.

Here’s a peek at some of the “stuff” I had to confront:

• Unrealistic expectations of myself and others
• Bad attitudes and toxic habits
• Shame and guilt from past mistakes and regrets
• Selfish motives and manipulative tendencies
• Debilitating insecurities and constant worries

The reality hit me hard: I desperately needed to declutter my soul. But as much as I desired it, I quickly realized I lacked the focus, determination, and even the willpower to get started.

It felt much like Paul’s struggle in Romans 7:14-20 (take a moment to read for encouragement). Here’s what held me back:

5 Things That Hindered My Progress:

1. Disobedience
I know what I should do…but I don’t do it.

2. Distraction
Too many things (even good ones) demand my time, attention, and energy.

3. Discontentment
I’m not happy with my life, and I find myself blaming God, others, and even myself.

4. Detachment
It feels easier to ignore the mess and deal with it “later.” But later never comes.

5. Discouragement
I’ve tried before, and nothing changed. Why bother trying again?

Now, I’ve got some good news and bad news about this process.

The Bad News (let’s be real):
You can’t declutter your soul on your own. Yep, no sugarcoating it, friend. It’s impossible to do it without God’s help.

The Good News (amen!):
God is ready and willing to help you clear out every bit of that soul clutter if you just let Him. His Spirit is the one who does the deep, transforming work in us, from the inside out.

I found comfort in David’s prayers in the Psalms. I call them CLUTTER-FREE PRAYERS.

Even when we don’t know where to start or what needs to be removed, God does!

Every year, without fail, my Thanksgiving cactus surprises me with its beautiful blooms. 🌸

And every year, I’m reminded of just how much of a miracle this is because, let’s be real—keeping houseplants alive isn’t my forte!

But somehow, this little cactus defies the odds. It thrives despite my neglect, my occasional overwatering, and my utter lack of a green thumb.

It’s like this plant and I have a secret agreement—I’ll keep it alive (barely), and it’ll reward me with its stunning flowers when I least expect it.

It’s a beautiful reminder that even when things feel a little out of control, there are still some small wonders that bloom in their own time.

And I see this as a precious gift from God-a sign of His grace & provision, even in the small, unexpected moments.

And for that, I’m deeply grateful.

How many of you (like me) are obsessed with being

How many of you (like me) are obsessed with being on time?

I confess–it is probably one of the traits my husband and kids find most annoying about me.

Yes, I wholeheartedly embrace the mantra:

Five minutes early is on time. On time is late. Late is unacceptable.

This is a standard I hold for myself, so please don’t think I am throwing any shade at those of you who don’t adhere to this way of thinking. I wish I could be more chill about it…but it’s a struggle.

• Maybe it’s because I need a few minutes to settle myself and feel prepared.

• Maybe it’s because being early gives me a sense of control.

• Maybe it’s because I worry that if I am late, I will miss something important.

I even have nightmares about showing up late to a class I’m supposed to teach, so it’s a real thing!

But here’s the thing: I recently overheard someone say, “You will never be late on God’s time.”

Wow. A revolutionary perspective for someone like me.

Because, if I am honest, I often want to put God on my timetable. I give Him my deadlines, tell Him what seems “late” or “on time,” and then get frustrated when He doesn’t show up according to my schedule.

Yet, God operates on His perfect timeline, not ours. He is never early, never late—always right on time.

As Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT) reminds us:

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
~Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)

It’s humbling, really. I spend so much time managing my schedule, plans, and sense of control. But in the end, God is the one weaving everything together for His perfect purpose, in His perfect timing.

So, maybe it’s okay if I’m running a little behind according to my watch—or even the world’s. Because the only timeline that truly matters is His. And in that, there’s freedom. There’s trust. And there’s peace that surpasses the rush and the pressure we place on ourselves.

So, the next time I feel that familiar tug of anxiety over being late, I’ll remember this: God’s never in a hurry, and neither should I be when it comes to His plans.
