Does God actually send us into the wilderness? Sometimes. And because the desert is a dry, barren, and lonely place we rather not walk through, it is easy to think that God is rebuking us, tormenting us, and punishing us by leading us through the wasteland.

But what if that is not his purpose? What if he wants to do something for us in the wilderness? What if his reasons for setting us apart and stripping us down are about revealing his presence, his protection, and his provision?
