3…2…1…LAUNCH!

June 23, 2016

I am not only extremely grateful that my home team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, are the NBA Champions (photo courtesy of the celebration parade I attended yesterday!), but God is moving and doing amazing things here AT THE CROSSROADS and we are almost ready to launch!

At the beginning of 2016 God gave me this story found in Joshua 1:1-9 (The Message):

After the death of Moses the servant of God, God spoke to Joshua, Moses’ assistant:

“Moses my servant is dead. Get going. Cross this Jordan River, you and all the people. Cross to the country I’m giving to the People of Israel. I’m giving you every square inch of the land you set your foot on—just as I promised Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon east to the Great River, the Euphrates River—all the Hittite country—and then west to the Great Sea. It’s all yours. All your life, no one will be able to hold out against you. In the same way I was with Moses, I’ll be with you. I won’t give up on you; I won’t leave you. Strength! Courage! You are going to lead this people to inherit the land that I promised to give their ancestors. Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going. And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.”

The story is of Joshua being commissioned by God to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land after the death of Moses.  You are probably very familiar with the last verse (Joshua 1:9) because it is often quoted to give us courage in strength during times of doubt and fear.   I love that verse, but rereading the whole context of the story gave me new insight and perspective.  God is much more specific than just telling Joshua to be strong and courageous.  There is a purpose and a plan.

God told me 4 things I needed to do (and challenged you to do also) as I began this new year:

1) GET MOVING (see verses highlighted in red)

2) TAKE GOD WITH ME (see verses highlighted in blue)

3) USE THE BIBLE AS MY GUIDE (see verses highlighted in green)

4) OBEY GOD’S COMMANDS (see verses highlighted in orange)

Since writing out these 4 challenges, I have been continually pushed…way out of my comfort zone.   God is working out His purpose and plan for my life, and it has not always been easy.  In the past six months I have wanted to give up, run and hide, and move on to something else.  I now realize that these are not options He is giving me.

He is doing a new thing and my job is to get on board and start following Him in the right direction.

There are so many changes that will take place AT THE CROSSROADS in the next few months (so hang on…it’s going to be a fun ride!), but the first big one is going to be a LAUNCH of my  NEW & IMPROVED WEBSITE.

I am so excited about this and cannot wait to show it to you, but in order to make this change, I will need to take a little break (hopefully no more than 2 weeks). So I will not be posting on #MindfulMondays or #ThankfulThursdays.  I trust you completely to be mindful and thankful without me!  😉  I also would ask for your prayers as we make this transition.

Since my website will be down and inaccessible during this time, the only way for us to stay connected is through email…so if you are not an email subscriber please do not wait.  SIGN UP TODAY BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

I will continue to send information about OASIS as well as updates on the website to all my subscribers.  Plus, I have created a new FREE DOWNLOAD on CONNECTION that will only be available to my subscribers!  This will be ready for you as soon as my new website launches, so you want to subscribe today!  See directions in blue below to make sure you are signed up as follower (or feel free to contact me if you need help).

How can I be anything but grateful on this #ThankfulThursday?  God has commanded me to be strong and courageous, to step out in faith, and to never lose sight that He is always with me.

I am so thrilled for this next phase of the journey and want, more than anything, for you to walk alongside me as we seek the place, walk the path, and find the people of connection. Meeting right here AT THE CROSSROADS is the perfect way for us to start.

I will be waiting for you on the other side….

One of the best ways that you can walk this journey with me is to follow AT THE CROSSROADS.  I am always looking for fellow travelers!

My subscribers are the coolest people ever and are able to receive direct communication from me and lots of free, cool stuff!

All we need is your email address…which is never shared with anyone else (never ever!).

When not teaching, speaking, or writing, Carla Gasser is most herself as a wife and mom living in Ohio with her four very active (and hilarious!) children (ages 22, 21, 18, & 15). She has been married over 28 years and is thankful for being able to do life with such a supportive and loving partner.  She writes and speaks about the messy, ordinary, and unexpected ways her life and her faith intersect.  Her passion is connection: encouraging others to seek God at the place of connection, serve their families and others on the path and connection, and support each other within the context of a caring and committed community as they strive to become people of connection.
